Match texture of patch to painted wall

I've been patching the holes in my wall. But after sanding the spackle, it leaves the area super smooth, even after painting over it. And the existing wall has a slight texture to it. Imgur ImgurI tried using a sponge to give it some texture, but I can't reproduce the original texture.
