This is what my process is. In no way do you need to do all of it. It is just the way I was taught. You are going to need,A hose, 2 buckets, Dish soap, Car wash soap, Micro fiber hand sponge, Micro fiber drying towel, Micro fiber wax towel, Clay bar kit, Rub on wax spray (pref mother's brand)Step 1 Prep. Fill the first bucket with just water, this is your rinse bucket. Fill the second bucket with dish soap/water mix, this is your wash bucket. We are using dish soap for our first wash because it gets rid of the oils and previous wax on your paint.Step 2 Spray your vehicle with the hose. Make sure to get off any excess debris, like bird shit.Step 3 Dip the micro fiber hand sponge in the dish soap solution. Work from the top to the bottom. Make sure to rinse the sponge in the rinse bucket continuously before dipping back into the wash bucket. ALWAYS wash in a linear fashion, never in a circle. This prevents swirls in your paint.Step 4 Rinse car with hose.Step 5 Clay bar. Now that your car is clean enough to actually see tar marks, imperfections in the paint, and other spots we can use the clay bar to get rid of them. You will soon find out that a clay bar is literally the best fucking thing ever made. Always keep the area that is being clay barred lubricated with the detail spray that comes in the kit. If you do not have this you can use soapy water, works just fine. Do the whole car. If you want to do it right, this will take a while.Step 6 Second wash. Poor out what ever is left your buckets and repeat step one. But instead of dish soap use car wash soap in your wash bucket. Remember to wash in a linear fashion.Step 7 Dry your vehicle with the micro fiber drying towel.Step 8 (my favorite step) Wax. Make sure that the car is in a cool place when doing this and is completely dry. Direct sunlight while waxing is no bueno. I use the Mother's spray on wax. All you need to do it spray the area you want to wax and rub in with a micro fiber towel. Do as many coats as you like. via /r/DIY http://ift.tt/2sQtIKf
